Description
The Magtech .45 GAP 230gr FMJ is a straightforward range load built for shooters who train regularly with a .45 GAP-chambered pistol. The .45 GAP cartridge was engineered to deliver .45 ACP ballistic performance from a shorter case, allowing it to fit in a standard-grip-frame pistol, and this ammunition is loaded to those same specifications: a 230-grain full metal jacket bullet at 837 feet per second from a 5-inch barrel, producing 358 foot-pounds of muzzle energy.
The full metal jacket construction is the right choice for volume range work. The copper jacket keeps lead off the bore and suppresses airborne lead at indoor ranges, while the round-nose profile feeds reliably through the wide variety of feed ramp geometries common in .45 GAP pistols. This is not an expanding or defensive load; the FMJ design is optimized for consistent cycling and predictable recoil rather than terminal performance.
Magtech loads this ammunition with brass cases, small pistol primers, and a ballistic coefficient of 0.167, which matters less at typical handgun distances than it would for a rifle round, but reflects careful consistency in the projectile. Brass cases hold up well to resizing and can be reloaded multiple times, which makes this an economical choice for shooters who process their brass. Packaged 50 rounds per box with 1,000 rounds per case, it scales well for bulk buying.
