Description

Mec-Gar has manufactured magazines for major firearms producers and military contracts since 1965, and this Beretta 92 series magazine is built to the same standard as those OEM production runs. It is a direct fit for the Beretta 92FS, 92G, 92X, and M9 platform — the kind of spare magazine a working shooter keeps on hand rather than relying on a single factory original.

The tube is formed from heat-treated carbon steel, which gives it the rigidity to resist deformation under the pressure of a loaded stack and the abuse of repeated drops on a range floor. A dimpled design in the tube body locks the follower’s travel path and keeps rounds feeding at a consistent angle, which matters most during rapid strings when the magazine is cycling fast. The spring is wound from high-tensile music wire, chosen for its ability to maintain consistent upward pressure across the full range of rounds without taking a permanent set over time from being stored loaded.

The polymer follower and floorplate are both high-impact grade. The floorplate sits flush with the pistol’s grip frame, so the magazine drops free cleanly and the outline of the pistol is not disturbed. Mec-Gar designed the tube to accept their standard replacement floorplates, springs, and followers, meaning individual components can be swapped out rather than replacing the entire magazine if something wears. The blued finish on the steel — Mec-Gar calls it Blued — provides a base level of corrosion resistance appropriate for range use and controlled storage. All manufacturing takes place in Italy.
