Description

The Mec-Gar extended magazine for the Beretta 92 and M9 series is aimed at shooters who want meaningful additional capacity without switching platforms. Mec-Gar manufactures the original-equipment magazines for Beretta itself, so this extended version is built to the same tolerances and feeds from the same verified geometry rather than being reverse-engineered from a production sample.

The tube is heat-treated carbon steel, 170mm long, giving it the structural rigidity to handle the column load of 26 rounds without the flex that can cause feed-angle issues at higher capacities. The Anti-Friction Coating on the interior surfaces reduces the resistance cartridges encounter as they move up the stack, which matters most during rapid fire when heat and debris are already working against reliable feeding. The same coating also acts as a corrosion barrier, which is useful in humid environments or for magazines carried on duty gear where sweat exposure is routine.

The follower is high-impact polymer, and Mec-Gar links the internal components so the follower, spring, and tube move as a coordinated system rather than as independent parts. The spring itself is high-tensile music wire, chosen for consistent force across the full range of compression — from a topped-off 26 rounds down to the last cartridge. The floorplate is polymer and the magazine is not compatible with Beretta 92S pistols that use a heel-mounted magazine release rather than the standard push-button arrangement.
