The tube is formed from heat-treated carbon steel, which gives the body the structural rigidity needed to handle the stresses of repeated loading cycles and the occasional drop. An anti-friction coating on the exterior reduces wear at the points where the magazine contacts the pistol’s frame during insertion and removal, and contributes to consistent drop-free ejection over time. The follower is made from high-impact polymer and is colored high-visibility green, making it easy to confirm an empty chamber at a glance. The spring is high-tensile music wire, chosen for its ability to maintain consistent tension across a wide range of temperatures and after extended periods of compression under load. The floorplate is polymer.

A few compatibility notes worth knowing before you buy: the magazine uses a fixed catch geometry that means standard aftermarket Glock replacement floorplates will not seat correctly — you are working with Mec-Gar’s own floorplate design.
