Description
Mec-Gar has manufactured magazines for major firearms producers and military contracts since 1965, and this Glock 19 magazine is built to the same standard as that OEM work. The tube is formed from heat-treated carbon steel, which gives it the structural rigidity to maintain consistent feed-lip geometry through repeated loading cycles. The spring is wound from high-tensile music wire, chosen for its ability to retain tension over long periods under compression — relevant if you store magazines loaded for extended stretches.
The follower is a high-visibility green, high-impact polymer piece. The green color makes it immediately obvious when the magazine is empty, which matters during range drills where you want to confirm the chamber is clear at a glance. The Anti-Friction coating on this magazine is applied to reduce drag between the cartridge stack and the tube walls, helping rounds feed smoothly under the spring pressure available in a compressed 10-round configuration.
A few compatibility points worth knowing before purchase: this magazine does not accept standard Glock replacement floorplates, so aftermarket basepad options designed for the factory magazine will not fit without modification. It is also not compatible with the Glock 19X. The magazine catch geometry works with standard Glock 19 frames, so there is no need to alter your existing catch. Mec-Gar manufactures in Italy using the same production lines that supply firearm manufacturers directly, so the tolerances reflect production-line standards rather than aftermarket approximation.
