Rather than a traditional buttstock, Mossberg fits the Shockwave with a Raptor bird’s-head grip, which changes the ergonomics entirely — the shooter drives the action forward and back with the support hand on the Corn Cob forend, which includes a strap to keep that hand secure under recoil. The result is a platform that operates differently from a standard shotgun and rewards practice with a specific grip technique.

The barrel carries a Cerakote Flat Dark Earth finish, which is a ceramic-polymer coating applied at the factory.
