The 6.5 PRC sits in a useful middle ground — it pushes heavier, high-BC projectiles faster than 6.5 Creedmoor while staying manageable in a sporter-weight chassis, making it a practical choice for anything from open-country mule deer to extended-range target work.

The 6.5 PRC is a cartridge that responds to bore time: the extra inches over a shorter hunting profile translate into meaningful velocity retention at distance, which matters when you’re talking about a round designed to stay supersonic well past 1,000 yards. That barrel carries a 1-in-8 twist, which stabilizes the longer, heavier 6.5-caliber bullets — think 140- to 156-grain projectiles — that are responsible for much of the cartridge’s long-range reputation. Lighter, shorter pills in this twist will also stabilize without issue, so ammunition selection stays flexible. The muzzle is cut to 5/8″-24 threads, the standard pitch for 6.5-caliber suppressors and muzzle brakes, so the barrel is already prepared for a device without gunsmithing.

The stock is finished in Flat Dark Earth synthetic, which sheds weight and weather without requiring any maintenance. Mossberg fits the Predator with a Picatinny rail rather than a scope base, which keeps optic mounting straightforward and compatible with a wide range of rings and mounts without needing to match a proprietary footprint. The trigger is Mossberg’s LBA — Lightning Bolt Action — a user-adjustable design that lets the shooter dial pull weight to their preference without sending the rifle out.
