Description

The Nocpix Quest H50R is a thermal binocular built for hunters and observers who need to glass for extended periods in complete darkness or adverse weather. The fundamental advantage of a binocular form factor over a monocular is physical: using both eyes eliminates the fatigue and disorientation that builds over a long glassing session, and keeping both hands on the optic provides a stable, natural hold that a monocular simply cannot replicate.

The 640×512 thermal sensor running at 60 Hz produces smooth, artifact-free motion — relevant when tracking an animal moving through brush, where a slower frame rate smears detail at the moment you most need it. The 12 μm pixel pitch on that sensor, combined with a 50 mm F/1.1 objective, determines how much thermal energy the system can resolve at distance; a wider aperture at a given focal length gathers more signal, which matters when temperature differentials are small. Sensitivity is rated at ≤15 mK NETD, meaning the sensor can distinguish very small differences in surface temperature rather than rendering a coarse, high-contrast image that loses detail in moderate conditions.

Each eyepiece drives its own 1920×1200 AMOLED display with an independent diopter adjustment, so shooters who need different corrections for each eye are not forced to compromise. The integrated 1,000-yard laser rangefinder operates in single-shot or continuous scan mode, putting distance data directly on the display without requiring a separate tool. Magnification starts at 4X and scales up from there via the zoom dial.

Power comes from a combination of an internal USB-C rechargeable cell and a swappable 18650-format battery, allowing a hot-swap mid-use without shutting the unit down. Two IRB-2 18650-style batteries and a binocular harness are included.
