Description

The Elevation 2.0 is Proof Research’s purpose-built precision bolt gun for hunters and long-range shooters who want a genuinely lightweight platform without giving up barrel quality. It is chambered in 6.5 PRC, a cartridge that runs at relatively high pressure and pushes heavy, high-BC projectiles fast enough to matter at distance, and the 20-inch barrel is a deliberate compromise: short enough to keep the rifle manageable in the field, long enough to recover most of the velocity that a compact hunting barrel would sacrifice. If you run the cartridge from a 24-inch tube you gain meaningful speed; at 20 inches you trade some of that for a rifle that balances and shoulders differently on steep terrain or out of a blind.

The 1:7.5-inch twist is on the faster end for 6.5-caliber rifles. That rate stabilizes the long, heavy-for-caliber projectiles the 6.5 PRC was designed around — bullets in the 140–156 grain class with high sectional density — so handloaders and handgun hunters trying lighter, shorter pills will want to confirm their specific projectile stabilizes at that rate. The barrel itself is a carbon fiber-wrapped, match-grade unit, which is how Proof Research keeps the weight down without moving to a lighter steel contour that would otherwise soften during a string of fire. The carbon wrap acts as a heat sink and stiffener, maintaining consistent point of impact as the barrel warms. The stock is a fixed carbon fiber unit in Tactical Flat Dark Earth, adding rigidity without the adjustability weight penalty of a chassis system. A TriggerTech trigger handles theolecranon mechanics, and the barrel ships threaded with a thread protector installed. Capacity runs 3+1, with a Picatinny rail on the receiver for optic mounting.
