Description
The Elevation 2.0 is Proof Research’s answer to a recurring problem in precision bolt-action rifles: barrel weight. Carbon fiber-wrapped barrels shed mass without sacrificing the stiffness that keeps point of impact consistent as the barrel heats through a string of shots. For a shooter who carries a rifle into the field — whether that means long hikes into the backcountry or extended prone work at a long-range venue — that weight reduction matters in ways that show up well before you reach the bench.
The 6.5 PRC is a cartridge designed around efficient use of long, high-BC projectiles, and the 1-in-7.5 twist rate is fast enough to stabilize the heaviest match bullets currently available in that caliber — 147- to 156-grain projectiles that require more rotational speed than slower twists can reliably provide. Handloaders and match shooters selecting ammunition for this rifle have a wide margin to work with at the heavy end of the 6.5 PRC bullet weight range. The barrel is threaded, which allows the shooter to run a muzzle device suited to their application.
The receiver is topped with a Picatinny rail, giving a standardized mounting surface for scopes and other optics without needing proprietary rings or additional adapters. The fixed carbon fiber stock in Tactical Flat Dark Earth keeps the chassis rigid and light — a stock that flexes under recoil introduces variability that undermines the consistency a rifle like this is built to deliver. This is a right-hand rifle built for shooters who want a capable, purpose-built precision platform that performs as well in the field as it does behind a positional rest.
