The Elevation 2.0 is Proof Research’s take on a production bolt-action built around the demands of long-range hunting and precision field shooting—and the left-hand configuration makes it a genuine option for southpaw shooters rather than an afterthought. The Zermatt Arms Origin action is the structural foundation here: it is a purpose-built precision receiver with a robust recoil lug and controlled-round feeding, chosen because it sets a consistent baseline for headspace and bedding without the hand-fitting variability that older production actions can introduce.

The barrel is a carbon fiber-wrapped, match-grade stainless core. That construction matters in two ways. The stainless steel liner is cut and lapped to match-grade tolerances for the kind of shot-to-shot consistency that sub-MOA accuracy requires. The carbon fiber wrap dramatically reduces mass compared to a steel barrel of equivalent stiffness, which shifts weight off the muzzle and keeps the overall rifle manageable during a pack-in hunt. The 20-inch length is a deliberate trade on 7mm PRC: you give up some velocity relative to a 24- or 26-inch tube, but you gain a rifle that is easier to maneuver through timber and brush without sacrificing enough ballistic performance to matter at practical hunting distances.
