The Elevation MTR is Proof Research’s answer to a specific problem: building a bolt-action rifle that a hunter or long-range shooter can carry all day without sacrificing the accuracy standard that precision work demands. This left-hand configuration is a purpose-built variant, not an afterthought — the action, bolt handle, and ejection port are all oriented for southpaw shooters from the ground up.

The barrel is carbon fiber-wrapped over a match-grade steel core, which is how Proof Research achieves a meaningful weight reduction without giving up the stiffness and heat dissipation that affect shot-to-shot consistency during extended strings of fire. A 20-inch barrel in .308 Win recovers nearly all of the cartridge’s useful velocity while keeping overall length manageable in the field — the trade-off relative to a longer tube is minimal for practical shooting distances. The 1-in-10 twist rate is well-matched to the mid-to-heavy .308 projectiles most precision shooters favor, from 168-grain match bullets through the heavier 175- to 185-grain options, without over-stabilizing lighter hunting loads.

The Zermatt Arms Origin action provides the foundation, and the single-piece pinned Picatinny rail eliminates the cant and repeatability concerns that come with separate base systems. A TriggerTech trigger and a detachable box magazine round out a package that is ready to scope and shoot without additional gunsmithing. The TFDE finish on the carbon fiber stock is Proof Research’s Tan/Flat Dark Earth color, suited to open terrain where a dark profile works against you.
