Description
The Elevation MTR 2.0 is Proof Research’s purpose-built precision bolt gun aimed at shooters who want a factory rifle that can compete at the range without a rebuild. This configuration is chambered in 6mm ARC, a cartridge designed to wring long-range ballistic performance from a compact action, and it arrives in a left-hand layout — a detail that matters for southpaw shooters who are otherwise accustomed to compromising on bolt placement or working against the action’s geometry mid-string.
The action is a Zermatt Arms Origin, chosen for its controlled-feed reliability and the tight interface tolerances that make it a common starting point for serious precision builds. Proof Research pairs it with a carbon fiber-wrapped match-grade barrel, a construction method that reduces weight significantly compared to a contoured steel tube of the same profile while also drawing heat away from the bore more evenly during sustained fire — both of which matter when you are shooting through a stage or a long field session. The 1-in-8 twist is well-suited to the heavier projectiles in the 6mm ARC family, particularly bullets in the 103–108 grain range that deliver the highest ballistic coefficients the cartridge is capable of.
The 5/8×24 threaded muzzle leaves the door open for a suppressor without any gunsmithing. The Midnight Camo carbon fiber stock keeps overall weight down while providing a stable, weather-resistant platform. Magazine feeding runs through a 12-round MDT Steel AICS-pattern magazine, which is a widely supported format and gives the shooter deep-capacity options within a chassis-compatible footprint. Proof Research backs the rifle with a sub-MOA accuracy guarantee.
