The Proof Research Elevation MTR 2.0 is built for hunters and long-range shooters who want a capable bolt-action rifle they can carry comfortably through rough terrain without sacrificing accuracy at distance. The carbon fiber barrel is the most consequential feature here. Carbon fiber wrapped barrels shed heat more evenly than steel-only barrels and weigh significantly less, which matters when the rifle is being carried rather than rested on a bench. The 1-in-8 twist rate is well matched to the heavier 7mm PRC bullet weights — typically in the 160–175 grain range — that extract the most from the cartridge’s external ballistics. Lighter bullets will still stabilize, but the twist is optimized for the projectiles that give 7mm PRC its long-range advantage. The barrel threads allow a suppressor to be mounted without an adapter, which can aid in comfort during extended shooting sessions and reduce shooter fatigue on the spotting side as well.

The Flat Dark Earth finish on this configuration runs through the stock as well as the metalwork, keeping the profile cohesive for field use.
