Description

The Raptor-SL is Radian Weapons’ slim-line answer to a specific problem: standard ambidextrous charging handles, with their wide latch paddles, can catch on chest rigs and plate carriers during dynamic movement. The SL profile keeps both latch levers low and close to the upper receiver, eliminating that snag point without giving up left- or right-hand operability. Either hand can blade the palm across the latch or use a thumb-and-finger pull to charge the rifle cleanly, and the geometry supports both techniques without favoring one over the other.

The body and latches are machined from 7075-T6 aluminum, which is the same alloy series used in aircraft structural components. It carries meaningfully more tensile strength than the 6061 aluminum common in lower-stress parts, which matters here because a charging handle absorbs repeated sharp loading forces every time the bolt is racked under spring tension or when the handle is used to strip a malfunction. The Type III hard coat anodized finish goes on thicker and harder than standard Type II anodizing, providing better resistance to abrasion from repeated contact with the upper receiver channel.

The Raptor-SL fits mil-spec pattern AR-15 upper receivers, so it drops into any standard upper without fitting or modification. It is chambered for the 5.56 NATO envelope, meaning the latch geometry and body dimensions are sized for that receiver family rather than the wider AR-10 or LR-308 pattern.
