Description

The Radian Afterburner and Ramjet combo is built for shooters who want meaningful recoil management on a Glock 19 Gen 3 without adding the bulk or legal complexity of a traditional threaded suppressor mount or muzzle device. The pairing addresses the two things that slow down accurate follow-up shots: muzzle rise and felt recoil. The Afterburner compensator redirects propellant gases upward to counteract muzzle flip, and Radian claims a 44% recoil reduction when running 115-grain ammunition — a figure worth understanding in context. That number reflects how the compensator and barrel function as a matched system, not as independent components.

The key to that system is the Intra-Lok mounting method. Rather than threading onto the barrel, the Afterburner slides over the Ramjet barrel and locks down via a tapered locking screw that seats into an angled V-groove cut into the barrel’s underside. The taper-lock geometry clocks the compensator consistently each time, which matters for gas port alignment and repeatability after cleaning. Removal for cleaning is straightforward: loosen the screw, slide the compensator off, pull the barrel. No wrenches, no timing marks.

Both components are machined from 416R stainless steel and finished in Radian’s Radianite coating, which combines low surface friction with high hardness and corrosion resistance. The Ramjet barrel has a fluted profile, and the Afterburner’s front face is angled to allow normal holstering. Because the combined length matches that of a Glock 17 slide, the setup is compatible with G17-pattern holsters. This combo does not include sights.
