Description
The Rearden Argos is a Picatinny-compatible scope mount built for shooters who need a solid, repeatable platform for precision optics on hard-use rifles. It is a practical choice for long-range work, hunting, and tactical applications where returning to zero after a field strip or optic swap genuinely matters.
The 34mm tube diameter opens up compatibility with a broad range of modern high-performance scopes, many of which use larger tube bodies to carry more internal adjustment range — useful when shooting at extended distances where dialing elevation becomes a limiting factor on narrower mounts. The 1.54-inch height is not arbitrary: it positions the bore of a 34mm optic at a height that works well with standard AR-platform cheekwelds and AR-height iron sights, reducing the need to stack risers or modify your stock setup to get a repeatable, comfortable sight picture.
The Flat Dark Earth anodized finish serves a functional purpose beyond color coordination. Hard anodizing creates a surface that resists corrosion and abrasion without adding meaningful weight or altering the mount’s dimensional tolerances — important when the interface between rail and mount needs to stay consistent across temperature swings and wet conditions. The finish also reduces glare in field settings where reflected light off a matte black surface can still be a factor.
Rearden designed the Argos around Picatinny rail geometry, so installation is straightforward on any MIL-STD-1913 rail without fitting or shimming. For shooters building a precision or hunting rifle where the mount is a long-term fixture rather than a temporary solution, that compatibility and finish durability make the Argos a mount worth spec-ing from the start rather than replacing later.
