The Rix Optics MK-R3000 is built for hunters, long-range shooters, and field observers who need a single tool that handles both observation and distance measurement — eliminating the fumble of setting down binoculars to pick up a standalone rangefinder. The 8x magnification sits in a practical middle ground for most field work: enough power to identify targets at distance without the narrow field of view that makes tracking moving animals frustrating. At 7 degrees wide, the field of view is generous for a rangefinding binocular, which matters when you are scanning terrain rather than staring at a fixed point.

The laser is rated to 3,000 meters on reflective targets, with progressively shorter practical limits against less cooperative surfaces — 1,500 meters on deer-sized game is the figure Rix Optics publishes for that specific use case. Accuracy holds to ±1 meter out to 300 meters, then transitions to a percentage-based tolerance beyond that, which is honest engineering: laser returns get more variable at extreme distances regardless of hardware. Single-point and continuous ranging cover standard field use, while Ballistics Application Mode pulls in data from an onboard environmental sensor and pairs with the Rix Tactical app over Bluetooth to run a full ballistic solution — including connectivity to a Kestrel anemometer for wind input. The AMOLED display adjusts brightness automatically to ambient conditions, keeping the readout legible whether you are glassing in shade or bright sunlight.

ED glass in the objectives controls chromatic aberration at the edges of the image, which matters most when ranging in low-contrast conditions where color fringing can blur the return.
