Description

The Bloodline Heavy Barrel is built for shooters who run their carbines hard and need a barrel that can absorb sustained fire without degrading. The heavy profile carries more mass than a standard government or M4 contour, which slows heat buildup during extended strings and makes the platform better suited for full-auto or high-volume semi-auto use. That added thermal capacity comes at a weight cost, so this is a deliberate trade-off rather than an all-purpose choice.

Rosco cuts this barrel from 4150 CMV steel, a chrome-moly vanadium alloy that holds up well to hard use and finishes predictably. Both the bore and the barrel extension receive a nitride treatment, which diffuses into the steel surface rather than sitting on top of it. That means the bore stays slick through heat cycles and cleaning without adding meaningful dimension to the finished part.

The carbine-length gas system shortens the dwell window compared to mid-length or rifle-length alternatives, which affects how the bolt cycles under different suppressor or ammunition conditions. Shooters running this barrel suppressed should factor that in when selecting a gas block or adjustable alternative. The gas block journal is sized at .750 inches, and Rosco machines a dimple into that journal so a set-screw gas block can index reliably without drifting under recoil.

The 1:7 twist rate stabilizes heavier projectiles effectively, making the barrel well-matched to loads in the 62-grain and heavier range, including M855 and M855A1 equivalents, as well as longer monolithic projectiles. The muzzle is threaded 1/2×28 and cut to an 11-degree target crown, which is a recessed geometry that protects the crown from contact damage during handling.
