Description

The Rugged Suppressors Rx Blast Diverter/Brake is a muzzle device built for shooters who run a Rugged suppressor-compatible rifle and want a practical, capable muzzle cap solution when the suppressor is off the gun. Rather than leaving a bare thread protector in place, this device earns its real estate by doing two jobs depending on how it is configured.

The modular design is the core of how it works: unthread the brake module and swap muzzle caps to move between a blast diverter mode and a muzzle brake mode. In diverter configuration, the device redirects combustion gases and concussion forward and away from the shooter, which matters most when shooting beside a partner or on a tight range bay where lateral blast becomes a problem. In brake configuration, the ports work against muzzle rise and felt recoil instead. Switching between the two requires no tools beyond what the design already provides.

The body is machined from billet 17-4 stainless steel throughout — a grade chosen for its high strength-to-weight ratio and resistance to corrosion — then finished in an ultra-hard black nitride treatment that bonds into the surface rather than sitting on top of it, making it resistant to wear and fouling over extended use. Muzzle caps are included in the box, so the device is ready to run in either mode without additional purchases.

Compatibility is governed by Rugged’s Dual Taper Lock system. This device mounts to Rugged’s own rifle-line muzzle devices, which are sold separately, so it is not a standalone thread-on brake — it is specifically designed to integrate with that existing Rugged mounting ecosystem.
