Sellier & Bellot’s 9mm 115-grain Full Metal Jacket load is a straightforward choice for high-volume practice, competition training, and breaking in a new pistol. The full metal jacket construction means the lead core is fully enclosed, which keeps barrel fouling manageable over long range sessions and makes cleanup more predictable than plated or cast projectiles. Because the jacket doesn’t expand on impact, feeding is consistent across a wide range of pistol designs, including those with tight feed ramp geometry.

At 115 grains, this is on the lighter end of the common 9mm weight spectrum. That translates to higher velocity out of the muzzle compared to heavier 124- or 147-grain loads, with a flatter trajectory at typical handgun distances. The trade-off is a slightly sharper, snappier impulse rather than the slower, pushing recoil some shooters associate with heavier subsonic loads. For most standard-pressure 9mm pistols, this load cycles reliably without the slide-battering concerns that can come with hotter +P ammunition.
