Description
The Havak Element Hunter M3 is built around a single premise: get a capable bolt-action hunting rifle into the backcountry without punishing the person carrying it. It is a short-action platform chambered in .308 Win, and Seekins has made deliberate choices at every point to cut weight without gutting the rifle’s usefulness at distance.
The barrel is a mountain hunter contour carbon-fiber unit, which is where most of the weight savings are realized compared to a conventional steel profile. Carbon-fiber wrapping over a steel liner allows Seekins to keep the barrel rigid enough to hold zero under field conditions while removing a meaningful amount of mass from the heaviest single component on any rifle. The 5/8×24 threaded muzzle gives you the option to run a brake or a suppressor depending on the situation.
The 1-in-11.25″ twist rate is worth understanding before you settle on a hunting load. It stabilizes the mid-weight .308 projectiles — roughly 150 to 175 grains — that most hunters are already running, but it is not optimized for the very heaviest long-range match bullets above 200 grains. For whitetail, elk, or similar applications, this is a non-issue; for someone intending to push the caliber to its absolute maximum long-range potential, load selection matters.
The chassis includes an integrated 20 MOA rail with a built-in level, so you are starting with mechanical elevation advantage already dialed in for long shots, and the level helps eliminate cant error in field positions where a solid benchrest is not an option. The full-length M-LOK rail gives you straightforward attachment points for a bipod or other accessories without adapters. The Woodland Shadow carbon chassis finish completes a package designed to work quietly in the places hunters actually spend their time.
