The P320-MAX SXG is Sig Sauer’s dedicated competition pistol, built around input from Max Michel and intended for shooters who want a serious stage tool rather than a carry gun pressed into match duty. The all-steel SXG grip module is the defining feature of this variant: steel sits lower in the hand than a polymer frame of the same grip angle, which shifts the bore axis closer to your palm and reduces the muzzle rise you work against between shots. That lower felt recoil impulse is the practical reason to accept the added weight in a competition context.

The slide carries custom wraparound serrations and is paired with a five-inch carbon steel bull barrel. A bull barrel’s greater mass at the muzzle dampens oscillation during the firing cycle, which tends to tighten shot groups when the round count climbs and fatigue becomes a factor. The pre-installed Romeo3MAX reflex sight sits on a SIGLOC-PRO optic footprint via a Springer Precision plate, keeping the optic as low over the bore as the platform allows. The flat-blade trigger and solid one-piece 1911-style guide rod are also part of the factory package, meaning the gun arrives configured for competition without requiring immediate aftermarket work.

This 10-round configuration ships with four magazines, giving you enough for a full stage load with one spare. The ambidextrous safety accommodates left- and right-handed shooters equally, and the reversible Springer Precision magazine release can be repositioned without additional parts. Custom Hogue alloy grip panels and a matching backstrap complete the ergonomic package.
