Description
The KILO10K-ABS HD Gen II is Sig Sauer’s answer to the demand for a single optic that handles both long-range observation and precise ballistic calculation without requiring a separate rangefinder. It is built for hunters and long-range shooters who work in changing conditions and need firing solutions that update in real time rather than ones derived from static range-table estimates.
The Gen II designation marks a ground-up redesign of the optical system, with Sig citing a 95% improvement in color accuracy and low-light performance over the first generation — a meaningful distinction for glassing at dawn or dusk when animal movement peaks. The active-matrix OLED display presents ballistic data in a crisp red reticle, and because OLED panels emit their own light rather than relying on a backlight, contrast and readability hold up across a wide range of ambient conditions. The three available reticle modes — Circle, Duplex, and Box with Milling — give the shooter options for both hunting and precision shooting contexts without requiring separate hardware.
Applied Ballistics Elite is integrated directly into the unit, drawing on a full bullet database with support for custom drag curves. Combined with the onboard environmental sensors and digital compass, the system calculates real-time ballistic corrections that account for actual atmospheric conditions rather than assuming sea-level standards. The Gen II Lightwave DSP ranging engine includes an Extended Range mode, and wind input is now handled through dedicated direct-entry buttons rather than menu navigation — a practical change for anyone who has tried to dial through a menu while wearing gloves or under time pressure. The Basemap app integration allows remote waypoint drops, extending the optic’s utility to scouting and land navigation beyond the immediate shot.
