Description

The Safariland COMP I speedloader is built for revolver shooters who need a reliable, low-profile reload under pressure — whether at the range, in competition, or in a carry context. It is designed around a push-button release rather than a twist mechanism, which removes the fine motor step of rotating the knob and lets the rounds drop into the cylinder with a single downward motion. That difference matters when hands are under stress or gloved.

The injection-molded construction keeps the loader light and the profile slim. The small-diameter knob is a deliberate design choice: it reduces the silhouette so the loader sits flat in a pocket or pouch without creating noticeable bulk, which is a real consideration for anyone carrying a spare cylinder’s worth of ammunition concealed. The tradeoff is that the knob offers less surface area to grip than a larger-bodied design, so the technique requires a firm pinch rather than a palm press.

This model is fitted for the Smith & Wesson J-Frame family, including the S&W Model 60, and is also compatible with Charter Arms revolvers of the same frame size. It holds five rounds and is chambered for .357 Magnum — which also accommodates .38 Special due to the shared case head diameter. The loader works ambidextrously, with no handed orientation required, so it suits either shooting stance without modification.
