Description

The Strike Industries Extended Bolt Catch is a direct drop-in replacement for the standard AR-15 bolt catch, built for shooters who want faster, more reliable manipulation under pressure. The standard mil-spec bolt catch works, but its lower lever is narrow enough that gloved hands or a rushed reload can mean fumbling for engagement. Strike Industries widened that lower lever into a broad, paddle-style surface — the geometry gives your thumb or palm a larger target to hit without requiring precise hand placement, which matters most when speed and grip consistency are degraded by fatigue, cold, or gear.

The upper engagement surfaces remain mil-spec, so the catch interfaces correctly with a standard bolt carrier group without any fitting or modification. The part installs with a standard roll pin, which is included. Construction is investment-cast 8620 steel, case hardened — a process that produces a tough outer shell while keeping the core ductile enough to absorb the repeated impact of the bolt carrier. The lower lever is reinforced specifically against that impact loading, which is the primary stress point on any bolt catch during sustained firing. The overall profile is shaped to sit cleanly in forged mil-spec lower receivers and also fits most billet lowers without interference.
