Description

The Strike Industries Gen 3 Magwell is a drop-in grip frame addition for Glock 17, 22, 31, and 34 Gen 3 pistols, aimed at shooters who want to shave time off magazine changes without rebuilding the entire pistol around a competition frame. The funnel geometry at the magazine opening gives a wider, more forgiving entry point, so a reload that might otherwise bobble under stress or low light finds its way home more reliably. That margin matters whether you are running a timer on a practical shooting stage or simply drilling at the range.

The front lip of the magwell does double duty: beyond guiding the magazine, it extends the grip surface and gives the support hand a more positive purchase. Shooters with larger hands or those who run their thumbs forward will notice the difference immediately. Construction is Strike Industries’ custom-blended SI Polymer Extreme, a high-strength impact-resistant material that keeps the added piece light enough that it does not meaningfully shift the balance of the pistol. The profile stays close to the factory grip silhouette, so the pistol still carries and holsters without the bulk penalties that come with larger steel or aluminum competition magwells.

The design is compatible with most aftermarket magazine base plates and extensions, including Strike Industries’ own Extended Magazine Plate for the G17, so you are not locked into a specific magazine configuration to use it. Installation uses the factory grip pin arrangement — no permanent modification to the frame is required. This is not a Glock factory component and is not warranted by Glock.
