Description
Reloading under pressure is where magwells earn their place. The Strike Industries GEN4 Magwell for the Glock 17, 22, 31, 34, and 35 adds a flared funnel at the base of the grip frame, giving the incoming magazine a larger target to catch and guide itself into the well. That geometry reduces the cost of a slightly off-center reload — the kind that happens when your hands are moving fast or your grip is less than perfect.
Strike Industries designed this piece to follow the factory grip profile rather than bulk it out. The added material stays close to the existing lines of the Gen 4 frame, so the pistol still seats comfortably in existing holsters designed around the stock dimensions — though fit will depend on the specific holster and should be verified before carry use.
Installation uses a set screw locking mechanism. One important note from Strike Industries: do not overtighten that set screw. Doing so can pull the magwell out of alignment and damage both the magwell and the frame. Snug is sufficient. The magwell is designed for use with the Glock factory flush backstrap; larger factory or aftermarket backstraps may require modification and are done so at the owner’s risk.
The part is made from polymer, keeping added weight minimal. This is a straightforward upgrade for anyone running a full-size Gen 4 Glock who wants to clean up their reloads without committing to a heavier or more invasive frame modification.
