Strike Industries addresses both problems with these Ultra Light Pivot and Takedown Pins. The extended profile on each pin gives your fingers enough purchase to push and pull them without reaching for a punch, which speeds up field stripping in a meaningful way rather than a marginal one.

The weight reduction comes from the choice of material. Strike Industries machines these from 7075 aircraft-grade billet aluminum, which carries a strength-to-weight ratio that makes it a practical substitute for steel in non-bearing pin applications like these. The pivot pin measures 1.31 inches overall and the takedown pin 1.08 inches, keeping both within the geometry AR-15 lower receivers expect while removing mass that a steel set would not. The complete set weighs 0.20 oz. Every gram matters when you are consciously building toward a lighter rifle.

The anodized Red finish is a colorline treatment rather than paint, meaning it bonds into the surface of the aluminum rather than sitting on top of it. Strike Industries does note that anodization color can shift slightly from one production batch to another, so if you are matching these to other Red-line components already on your build, that is worth keeping in mind. Fitment is broadly compatible with AR-15, M16, and M4 pattern lower receivers, and installation does not require a gunsmith — though taking a moment to verify function before use is always sound practice.
