Description

The SureFire SOCOM 3-Prong Flash Hider for 6.8mm Remington SPC is a muzzle device built around two jobs: suppressing flash and serving as a mounting platform for SureFire SOCOM Series Fast-Attach suppressors. Those two functions are not independent—the three-prong geometry that cuts muzzle flash by more than 99% compared to a bare muzzle also provides the multiple bearing surfaces that keep a mounted suppressor in tight, repeatable alignment. That alignment matters because even small concentricity errors at the muzzle translate into baffle strikes downrange.

The tines are engineered to hold their geometry under sustained fire, which is where many prong-style hiders fail—heat cycling and the mechanical stress of suppressor attachment cycles will eventually work on softer or thinner material. SureFire machines this hider from US mill-certified heat-treated stainless steel bar stock, then applies an Ionbond DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating. DLC is specifically chosen here for two reasons: it resists erosion from the high-temperature gas environment at the muzzle, and its low surface friction makes carbon fouling easier to clear after extended use without permanent modification to the host weapon.

Thread engagement is handled through high-precision single-point cut threads, which produce a more consistent interface than standard thread-cutting methods and reduce the chance of misalignment when torquing the hider onto the barrel. A rear labyrinth seal reduces carbon migration into the indexing system, which directly affects how easily the suppressor comes off after a long firing session. Every unit leaves the factory inspected for concentricity and alignment. Note that this hider is compatible only with current-generation SureFire SOCOM Series suppressors—it is not interchangeable with older SureFire Fast-Attach hardware.
