Description
The WARCOMP SPORT is SureFire’s answer to a specific and real problem: muzzle flash and muzzle rise work against each other, and most muzzle devices address one at the cost of the other. This one is designed to handle both simultaneously. Its porting geometry draws from the full WARCOMP platform — SureFire’s suppressor-host flash hider — but is configured for rifles that will run without a suppressor. The distinction matters because the two devices port gases differently; the WARCOMP SPORT is tuned specifically for the unsuppressed role and is not compatible with SureFire suppressors.
The porting that kills flash also acts on muzzle rise. Escaping gases are directed in a way that counters the upward moment generated at the muzzle, which means less travel between shots and faster return to the same point of aim. The effect is meaningful on short-barreled rifles, where the sharper pressure spike would otherwise produce a more dramatic rise. SureFire rates flash suppression above 98%, even on short barrels where the blast signature is at its worst.
Construction is heat-treated chromoly bar stock sourced from U.S. mill-certified material, finished in Nitride QPQ. That combination gives corrosion resistance and surface hardness without adding significant weight. The threads are single-point cut, which produces a more precise fit than thread-milled alternatives and is part of why the device can be timed — oriented to a specific clock position — for either right- or left-handed shooters without compromising the seal. No permanent modification to the barrel is required for installation.
