The Timney Alpha Competition is a drop-in trigger built for Glock Gen 3 and Gen 4 shooters who want a meaningful improvement in feel and consistency without altering the platform’s fundamental reliability. It fits the G17, G17L, G19, G22, G23, G24, G34, and G35 — a broad spread covering the most common duty and competition frames in both 9mm and .40 S&W.

The core of the design is a trigger bar and sear treated with a Teflon-nickel process, commonly referred to as NP3. That coating is not simply decorative: it bonds to the metal at a microscopic level and carries its own lubricity, which dramatically reduces metal-on-metal friction through the pull cycle without requiring added lubricant to maintain that feel. The result is a wall and break that are noticeably more defined than a standard Glock connector setup, which tends toward a rolling, stacking pull rather than a clean stop and release.

The trigger shoe itself is straight-faced aluminum with a purple anodized safety blade — a departure from the curved factory shoe that changes the geometry of where your finger contacts the trigger face and can improve consistency of pull weight across a full day of shooting. Critically, the Alpha retains all stock Glock springs and internal components other than the trigger bar and sear, so the fire control group remains within familiar Glock tolerances and the platform’s proven safety architecture stays intact. The three-pound factory pull weight is set at the factory and suits both competition stages where split times matter and range work where a lighter, cleaner break accelerates skill development. Installation does not require permanent modification to the pistol.
