Description

The TriggerTech Special is aimed at the serious precision shooter who wants a meaningful mechanical upgrade over the Remington 700’s factory trigger without committing to the cost of the Diamond line. It fits right-hand Remington 700 actions as a drop-in replacement, retaining the factory safety and bolt release arrangement so the rifle’s existing stock and chassis require no modification.

The core of the Special is TriggerTech’s Frictionless Release Technology, which replaces the conventional friction-dependent sear engagement with a roller-based system. Because the engagement surfaces do not slide against one another under load, pull weight stays consistent across a long service life and is not dependent on lubrication state or surface polish. Where a conventional trigger’s feel can shift as surfaces wear or dry out, the roller mechanism maintains the same geometry shot to shot.

Pull weight is externally adjustable from 1.0 to 3.5 pounds via a set screw accessible without disassembling the trigger housing, and adjustments move in approximately one-ounce increments — precise enough to dial in a specific feel rather than jumping between broad settings. The housing is machined from 7075 aluminum and the critical internal components are hardened 440C stainless steel, finished in PVD Black. PVD — Physical Vapour Deposition — bonds the coating at the molecular level rather than sitting on the surface, which contributes to the finish holding up against holster wear, handling, and field conditions better than conventional anodizing alone would.

This variant ships with a curved trigger blade and no bolt release, which suits shooters who prefer a traditional contact point and do not need the aftermarket bolt release function. Overtravel is held under 0.015 inches, and the break is described by TriggerTech as zero-creep — the trigger does not move perceptibly before it fires.
