Description
The Walker’s Razor Slim Patriot in OD Green is built for shooters who need reliable hearing protection that doesn’t get in the way at the range or in the field. The slim ear cup profile is the central design decision here: low-profile housings keep the cups clear of a rifle stock during shouldering, so you’re not breaking your cheek weld every time you acquire a sight picture. That matters far more in practice than it reads on paper.
Two onboard microphones pick up ambient sound and voices and route them through the speakers at amplified levels, so you hear what’s happening around you more clearly than you would unprotected. When a gunshot or other impulse noise occurs, the electronics compress and cut off amplification almost instantaneously — the attack time is fast enough that the protection engages before the noise does meaningful damage. This is the core trade-off of any electronic muff: you get situational awareness between shots, and automatic protection during them, without having to pull the muffs off and on.
The housing is built from a sound-dampening composite with a rubberized exterior coating, which reduces both mechanical noise transfer when the cups are bumped and the risk of damage to the internal electronics. The headband is a padded metal wire frame, keeping the overall weight down while maintaining enough structure to hold a consistent seal against the head. The muffs fold into a compact form for storage or transport. An auxiliary audio input jack lets you connect a phone or other source, so you can monitor audio without removing the muffs. Two AAA batteries power the unit, and two US Flag patches are included with the Patriot model. Available here in OD Green.
