Description
The Wilson Combat ACP Full-Size is built for shooters who want a hand-fitted, match-grade 1911 without commissioning a fully custom pistol. It suits duty use, serious competition, and anyone who carries a full-size platform and expects the gun to perform without breaking it in or tuning it after the fact.
Wilson Combat produces the ACP with a forged carbon steel slide and frame, assembled by their own pistolsmiths using what the company calls Bullet Proof components — machined in-house rather than sourced as off-the-shelf castings. The barrel and bushing are stainless steel, fitted flush-cut, which matters because a properly fitted bushing is central to shot-to-shot consistency on a traditional 1911 design. The fit between bushing and slide controls barrel lockup geometry, and Wilson guarantees one-inch groups at 25 yards on this platform as a result.
The Eagle Claw surface texture on the frontstrap, mainspring housing, and rear cocking serrations gives purchase without the skin abrasion that aggressive checkering produces during extended handling — a meaningful difference if the gun is worn daily. The single-action trigger is set between 3.5 and 4.5 pounds with a medium pad, which keeps the pull consistent and usable across different hand sizes without requiring a custom fitting. The beavertail grip safety is the high-grip Bullet Proof pattern, designed to eliminate hammer bite while keeping the hand as high on the frame as possible for recoil management. Sights are Wilson’s Battlesight rear paired with a red fiber optic front, a combination that gives a fast acquisition point in daylight conditions while retaining a usable rear notch. Two 10-round magazines are included.
