Description

The NULA Model 20 is built for hunters and backcountry shooters who want a serious bolt-action rifle they can carry all day without compromising on accuracy or durability. Wilson Combat developed it around a philosophy of genuine ultralight construction — not shaved tolerances or thin-wall shortcuts, but deliberate material choices from the ground up. The receiver is machined from 4140 bar stock and coated in Armor-Tuff; the bolt is fully machined from 4340 steel and finished in Nickel Boron for corrosion resistance and smooth cycling. Neither component is cast.

The 416R stainless barrel is button rifled, then honed and double stress relieved — a process that stabilizes the steel so point of impact stays consistent as the barrel heats through a day of hunting. The 1-in-11.25 twist rate in this .308 Winchester configuration is calibrated toward heavier hunting bullets in the 168–175 grain range, which stabilize well at that rate and retain velocity effectively at field distances. Shooters who run lighter 150-grain loads will find them stable as well, though the twist is optimized for the heavier end of the .308 spectrum. The muzzle is threaded 5/8×24, so a suppressor or muzzle brake threads on without an adapter.

The AG Composites carbon fiber stock in Kodiak Rogue — a pattern suited to forested terrain — contributes directly to the rifle’s sub-five-pound weight class. The Timney Elite Hunter trigger breaks between 2.75 and 3.25 pounds, a range appropriate for field use where gloves or cold hands are part of the equation. The aluminum hinged floorplate and oversized magazine box are practical details: the floorplate latches positively inside the trigger guard, and the extra internal length gives handloaders room to seat longer, higher-BC projectiles at appropriate overall length rather than compressing into the case.
