Description
Most suppressors function as muzzle brakes when mounted, but they spend time in a safe or on another rifle. The Yankee Hill Machine Phantom Q.D. Muzzle Brake gives your .308 or 7.62 NATO host rifle meaningful recoil reduction during those intervals rather than leaving a bare muzzle or a passive thread protector in place. The real value of this device is in the system it belongs to: the Phantom Q.D. interface allows fast, repeatable attachment and removal of compatible YHM suppressors, so the same muzzle device serves two purposes depending on what you have mounted.
The 1/2″-28 thread pattern fits a wide range of factory and aftermarket .30-caliber barrels, making this a practical choice for bolt guns and AR-platform rifles alike. Construction is 4140 steel with a Black Oxide finish, which keeps weight reasonable while providing the durability needed at the muzzle. A shim kit is included so you can achieve proper timing without having to source hardware separately — a detail that matters when precise suppressor alignment depends on the brake sitting correctly.
Compatibility is worth noting carefully. This brake is designed around the Phantom Q.D. Adapter (YHM-3060), which interfaces with YHM’s 1-3/8″-24 hub-capable suppressors. It will not accept the 5.56 Phantom, Phantom 5.56 M2, or first-generation Turbo suppressors. If your suppressor runs a different mounting standard, this brake functions as a standalone recoil-reduction device but will not enable quick-detach suppressor use.
