Description
The GBRS Group Lerna Mount Kit is built for shooters who run body armor, communication headsets, gas masks, or night vision and need their optic positioned to match. The mount raises the EOTech EXPS to a 2.91-inch centerline height, which lets a shooter maintain an upright, heads-up posture rather than folding into the rifle to find a cheekweld. That postural difference matters when plates are forward and spine alignment affects how quickly you can move between targets or transitions.
The elevated centerline is not simply a comfort adjustment. When wearing ear protection or a helmet-mounted device, a lower optic forces the head down to meet it, compressing the neck and narrowing peripheral vision. Bringing the sight line up to the shooter instead keeps situational awareness broader and reduces the muscular tension that accumulates during extended use in full kit.
The mount is optic-specific, machined to accept the EOTech EXPS footprint directly without adapters or shims, which keeps the overall package compact and eliminates any slop that an intermediate adapter could introduce. The Flat Dark Earth anodized finish is GBRS Group’s own designation for this variant and suits mixed-color kit setups where a black optic on a dark receiver can look inconsistent. Installation is straightforward for anyone already familiar with Picatinny-based optic mounting.
This is a purpose-built tool for operators and serious civilian shooters who have already identified that a standard-height mount is working against them in their kit configuration. If you run an EXPS at standard height and have no complaints about your posture or sight picture in full gear, the Lerna addresses a problem you do not have. If you do, it addresses it cleanly.
