The Walker’s XCEL 100 is a digitally processed electronic hearing muff built for shooters and hunters who want genuine sound management rather than simple passive attenuation. Where conventional muffs apply a fixed compression recovery time regardless of what the microphones are picking up, the XCEL’s variable dynamic sound suppression reads noise intensity and duration continuously and adjusts compression timing accordingly. That means your ears get faster recovery after a brief sharp report and sustained protection under prolonged noise without the system overcorrecting in either direction.

Four selectable listening modes let you tune the muff to the task at hand. Universal mode provides general-purpose ambient amplification, Speech Clarity is weighted to separate voices from background noise during communication, High Frequency is calibrated to pick up distant steel impacts on the range, and Power Boost raises overall amplification across the volume spectrum. All modes are navigated through soft-touch controls on the headband using voice prompts, so you never have to guess which mode is active. The muff cups are designed with fewer penetrations than earlier Walker’s designs, which directly supports the 26 dB NRR by reducing paths for sound to bypass the ear seal.

Auto shut-off is programmable, eliminating the common problem of drained batteries from leaving the muffs on between sessions. The omnidirectional microphones include wind noise reduction, which matters when you are glassing or waiting in an exposed position. Power comes from two AAA batteries.
