Description
The Walker’s Razor with Tacti-Grip headband is built for shooters who need reliable hearing protection and clear situational awareness at the range or in the field. The over-the-head design uses a high-performance silicone composite headband — what Walker’s calls the Tacti-Grip — that grips without sliding, which matters when you’re moving between positions or wearing additional gear that tends to push standard headbands out of place.
The earmuffs use sound-activated compression to cut dangerous impulse noise, such as gunshots, while allowing lower-level sounds like range commands or conversation to pass through. Omnidirectional microphones capture sound from multiple directions rather than a single axis, which gives a more natural sense of where a sound is coming from compared to single-mic designs. The audio is processed and played back through full dynamic range HD speakers, keeping voices and ambient cues sounding clear rather than thin or clipped. A 23 NRR rating quantifies the level of passive attenuation the housing provides on top of the active electronics, so even if the battery fails, you retain a meaningful degree of protection. The composite housing is shaped to reduce sound transmission through the cup itself, and the rubberized exterior finish adds grip and some resistance to surface wear.
A 3.5mm audio input jack lets you connect an external audio source — a radio or communication device — without adding bulk to the headband assembly. The Flat Dark Earth finish is Walker’s own Mega FDE colorway, carried through both the cup housing and the Tacti-Grip headband for a consistent look. This is a practical choice for any shooter who wants electronic hearing protection that stays put under real working conditions.
