Description
The Walker’s Razor Slim Electronic Muff in the Freedom 2nd Amendment finish is built for shooters who need reliable hearing protection at the range or in the field without sacrificing awareness of what’s happening around them. The 2nd Amendment graphics give it a distinctly patriotic look, but the hardware underneath is the same slim, practical platform the Razor line is known for.
Two hi-gain omnidirectional microphones continuously sample ambient sound and feed it through full dynamic range HD speakers inside the cups. The result is that normal conversation, range commands, and environmental cues come through clearly at amplified levels — so you’re not shooting blind to your surroundings. When a gunshot or other sharp impulse hits, Sound Activated Compression kicks in at 0.02 seconds, cutting the audio signal before the pressure wave can damage your hearing. That reaction time matters because passive foam or simple mechanical protection reacts to sound the same way your ear does — after the fact. The electronic compression here acts before the harmful level reaches you.
The ultra-low-profile cup design keeps the earmuffs from interfering with cheek weld on a rifle or shotgun stock, which is the practical reason to choose a slim electronic muff over a bulkier passive option. Gel ear seals and a padded headband with a metal wire frame hold the cups in place through extended sessions. A 3.5mm audio input jack lets you route a radio or phone audio into the muffs without removing them. The unit runs on two AAA batteries, included, and an auto-shutoff function conserves them between sessions. The collapsible design stores flat when not in use.
