Description

The Walker’s Recon is a low-profile electronic hearing protection muff built for shooters and hunters who need reliable noise management without sacrificing situational awareness. Its core function centers on Sound Activated Compression, which reacts to sudden loud impulses fast enough to protect your hearing from a gunshot while leaving the recovery window short enough that you can still track what is happening around you immediately after the shot breaks.

Where passive muffs simply block sound across the board, the Recon uses digital amplification to bring up quiet ambient sounds — footsteps, range commands, game movement — so you are not trading awareness for protection. The digital audio circuit and full dynamic-range HD speakers handle that amplification cleanly, without the compressed, telephone-quality reproduction common to entry-level electronic muffs. MEM microphones feed the signal, which matters because that microphone type tends to pick up directional audio more faithfully than older omnidirectional capsules.

The housings are built from sound-dampening composite material with a bonded rubber coating that adds a layer of passive attenuation on top of the electronic system, which is useful in particularly loud environments. An IPX4 weather-resistance rating means the muffs will handle rain and field conditions without concern. The auto shutoff is adjustable to 2, 4, or 6 hours depending on how long your sessions typically run, which helps battery life without requiring you to remember to power them down manually. A 3.5mm audio input lets you connect a radio, phone, or other device so you can take communication through the same speakers without removing the muffs.
