Description
The TriggerTech Primary is a drop-in replacement trigger for Remington 700 platform rifles, suited to precision shooters, competitive long-range shooters, and hunters who want a cleaner break than the factory unit provides without moving to a fully custom trigger job. This variant is right-hand, curved trigger bow, in PVD Black finish.
The core mechanism is TriggerTech’s Frictionless Release Technology, which eliminates the sliding friction contact found in conventional sear-based designs. Because the release relies on a rotating component rather than a sliding engagement surface, the break point does not depend on lubrication or polishing to stay consistent — the pull character holds up across temperature extremes and fouling conditions where friction-based triggers can become unpredictable.
Pull weight adjusts from 1.5 to 4.0 lbs through an externally accessible set screw using CLKR Technology, so changes can be made without removing the trigger from the action or sending it out for a gunsmith. Adjustment moves in one-ounce increments, which gives meaningful granularity for dialing in a specific feel rather than toggling between a few preset weights. Overtravel is kept under 0.015 inches, limiting the movement after the break that can disturb a held position.
The housing is machined from 7075 aluminum and key internal components are 440C stainless steel. It installs as a direct drop-in replacement for standard Remington 700 footprint actions and retains the factory bolt release function. The PVD Black finish on the trigger bow is a physical vapor deposition coating rather than paint or bluing, which bonds at the surface level rather than sitting on top of the metal.
