Description
The REPR MKII in its 20-inch configuration is built for precision work at distance — the kind of shooting where a .308 / 7.62 NATO rifle needs to do double duty as a designated marksman’s tool and a capable long-range platform. It suits shooters who want a gas-piston semi-automatic that doesn’t require the maintenance discipline of a direct-impingement design, and who are willing to carry the added weight that reliability and durability cost.
LWRC’s short-stroke gas piston system keeps combustion gases and carbon out of the receiver. That separation means the bolt carrier runs cleaner through extended strings of fire, and the piston’s operation tends to reduce the sharp rearward impulse spike that direct-impingement systems produce — felt recoil arrives as a slightly softer, more linear push rather than an abrupt snap. The 20-inch barrel, finished in black nitride for corrosion resistance, gives 7.62 NATO propellant the dwell time it needs to reach its velocity potential. A 1:10-inch twist rate stabilizes the standard-weight projectiles that dominate .308 service and match ammunition — think 147- to 175-grain bullets — without overdriving the lighter hunting options. The barrel’s fluted profile removes material in a way that improves the surface-area-to-mass ratio, helping manage heat during sustained fire.
The Monoforge upper receiver machines the rail base as a single piece rather than attaching it separately, which eliminates a mechanical joint that could otherwise shift point of impact when optics are mounted and remounted. A Geissele SSA-E two-stage trigger gives a distinct wall between the take-up stage and the break, which supports the kind of deliberate trigger press that precision distances demand. The Magpul PRS stock provides length-of-pull and comb-height adjustment, letting the shooter dial fit to the prone or supported position rather than adapting technique to a fixed geometry. Iron sights are included as a baseline aiming solution. The Flat Dark Earth Cerakote finish covers both receiver and handguard.
