Description
The Bergara Premier No. 6 CURE barreled action is built for hunters and backcountry shooters who need to trim every ounce without sacrificing the accuracy or heat management a full day in the field demands. It is a purpose-built component, not a complete rifle, intended for builders and gunsmiths who want a proven foundation rather than a starting-from-scratch barrel fit.
The defining element here is the CURE carbon fiber barrel. Carbon fiber wrapped around a stainless steel liner dissipates heat faster than an all-steel barrel of comparable profile, which matters when you are taking follow-up shots on a warm day or running a suppressor. The construction also pulls weight out of the heaviest single component on the rifle, and at 4.2 lbs for the complete barreled action, that reduction is meaningful before a stock, optic, or chassis is ever mounted.
The 1-in-10 inch twist rate is well-suited to the broad range of .308 Winchester hunting and precision loads built around bullets in the 168- to 175-grain range, without demanding the heavier, high-BC projectiles that faster twists favor. Shooters who prefer lighter, faster loads in the 147- to 155-grain window will also find the twist permissive. The muzzle is threaded 5/8-24 and ships with a thread protector, leaving the builder free to mount a preferred muzzle device. Scope mounting follows the Remington 700 pattern with 8-40 threads, which keeps the action compatible with the widest available selection of bases and rings. The finish is Raw Stainless on the action with Carbon on the barrel — a combination that reflects both materials honestly and suits further customization or coating.
