Going lighter than 147 grains generally starts to push the boundaries of what that twist rate handles cleanly, so the rifle rewards ammunition selection in the middle-to-heavy end of the .308 spectrum. The fluted 22-inch barrel keeps weight down relative to a longer tube while preserving the velocity advantage over carbine-length options, a balance that suits field use as much as a bench.
