Description
The Magpul DT Carbine Stock is built for AR-15 shooters running a mil-spec buffer tube who have grown tired of accepting stock wobble as an unavoidable compromise. Conventional collapsible stocks use a single lock pin seated in a buffer tube notch, and the clearance required for that pin to function reliably is exactly what allows the familiar side-to-side and front-to-back movement under recoil. The DT addresses this with Magpul’s Dual Tensioning system: alongside the standard single-lever latch, an internal friction element engages automatically each time the stock is set to a position, adding a second point of resistance against the tube without requiring any manual adjustment from the shooter. The result is a noticeably tighter lockup at every length-of-pull setting without the added operating step found on CTR-style friction locks, which require the shooter to manually tighten a supplemental collar.
The control lever is ambidextrous and handles both locking and unlocking in a single motion, so the adjustment process is no more complicated than a standard collapsible stock. The butt-pad geometry is carried over from the CTR, with a curvature and non-slip texture intended to reduce snagging during shoulder transitions and to sit more comfortably against body armor. For sling attachment, the stock includes an integral push-button QD socket and a rear 1.25-inch loop, covering the most common mounting preferences without adapters. The stock is also compatible with Magpul CTR Cheek Risers if additional comb height is needed. Finished in Modified Coyote Brown and made in the USA, it fits any mil-spec diameter receiver extension tube — the tube itself is not included.
