The Radian Weapons Model 1 Builder Kit is designed for the builder who wants a finished upper and lower assembly as a coordinated system rather than a collection of individually sourced components. It suits competitive shooters, dedicated range users, and anyone who values controls that work equally well from either side without retrofitting.

The kit is built around a billet upper receiver and Radian’s AX556 lower receiver, both machined to work as a matched pair. That matters because billet construction allows tighter internal geometry than a casting, and pairing upper and lower from the same manufacturer reduces the tolerance stacking that can introduce play between the two halves over time. The 15.5-inch barrel length places this in a range where the gas system has enough dwell time to cycle reliably across a wide range of ammunition without the sharper impulse associated with shorter carbine configurations.

The Raptor-SD charging handle is included and is designed around suppressor use, with a larger latch surface that makes one-handed manipulation straightforward whether the shooter is working from the left or right side. The Talon safety selector extends that ambidextrous philosophy to the lower, giving a left-handed shooter a fully mirrored manual of arms rather than a compromised one. Finish is Cerakote in Radian’s Olive Drab Green, applied before assembly so coverage reaches interior surfaces and mating edges rather than sitting only on exposed exterior faces.

Each kit is hand-assembled by a Radian gunsmith before shipping, which means headspacing and function are confirmed on a complete assembly, not left to the end user. What arrives is a receiver set ready to accept a barrel and complete lower parts group, with the control components already installed.
