Description
The Radian Weapons Model 1 Builder Kit is aimed at the builder who wants a finished upper and lower receiver set with ambidextrous controls already sorted, rather than sourcing those components individually. It suits competitive shooters and serious range users who prioritize left-right symmetry in their controls without retrofitting a standard mil-spec lower after the fact.
The kit is built around a billet upper receiver paired with the Radian AX556 lower, both machined from 7075-T6 aluminum. Billet construction allows tighter internal geometry than a forged blank permits, which typically results in a snugger fit between the upper and lower halves — relevant for felt wobble and repeatability when the rifle is disassembled and reassembled between range sessions. The Raptor-SD ambidextrous charging handle is included; its dual latch design means support-side manipulations require no grip-shift, which matters in drills where the firing hand stays on the pistol grip. The Talon Safety Selector and ambidextrous bolt catch and magazine release extend that same left-right symmetry across all four primary controls, so southpaw shooters or those training weak-side manipulations work from a consistent manual of arms rather than a compromise. The 17-inch M-LOK handguard provides a long, uninterrupted attachment surface for lights, lasers, or grips, and the free-float design removes any contact between handguard and barrel that would otherwise introduce inconsistency under pressure. Black Cerakote finish covers the assembly. Hardware — barrel nut, wrench, cross bolts, washers, and nuts — ships with the kit.
