Description

The Radian Weapons Model 1 is a complete upper built for shooters who want a no-compromise precision platform without assembling one part at a time. It suits the shooter who runs a carbine hard at distance — someone comfortable with a mid-length gas system and interested in what that choice actually costs and buys.

The mid-length gas system places the gas port farther down the barrel than a carbine-length arrangement, which lengthens the dwell time curve more gradually and spreads the recoil impulse over a longer extraction stroke. The practical result is a softer, more manageable cycling feel compared to a carbine-length setup on a barrel of this size, which also puts less stress on the bolt and carrier over a long round count.

The barrel is cut from 416R stainless steel and chambered in .223 Wylde, a chamber specification designed to accept both .223 Remington and 5.56 NATO ammunition while maintaining tighter tolerances at the throat than a mil-spec 5.56 chamber. That geometry is what allows the barrel to produce consistent groups with quality match ammunition — the chamber does not need to accommodate the pressure spikes of 5.56 by loosening the leade the way a standard NATO chamber does. The 1:8 twist rate is a practical middle ground, stabilizing the heavier 75- to 77-grain projectiles that serious precision shooters tend to favor without compromising with lighter 55-grain loads.

The Radian Raptor SD charging handle offers ambidextrous latch operation, so either hand can manipulate it without a grip shift. The upper receiver itself is billet-machined 7075-T6 aluminum, and the 14-inch M-LOK free-float handguard keeps the barrel isolated from any clamping pressure, which matters for consistency when a support hand or sling applies force. The muzzle device is pinned and welded to bring the assembly to a 16-inch overall barrel length. Finished in Radian Grey throughout.
